Background
I earned my undergrad at East Carolina University and received my BSBA with a concentration in Marketing. I started out working in Minor League Baseball, then realized it is truly a business and not a sport and decided I loved the game too much. After a short stint in the wireless industry and some boutique consulting years, I decided to go back to school and received my MBA from UNC Charlotte. I then transitioned into banking and have tackled roles from Product Strategy to Innovation to Fraud. I began teaching in 2012 at Queens University and UNC Charlotte. It quickly became my passion.
I feel a complete circle needs to be completed in order to claim a successful business career. First you learn, then you do, then you teach. When it comes to my career, there is a strong pull to go around the circle a second time. My experience as an Adjunct Professor at both the undergrad and grad level has continued to ignite a flame while bringing clarity to the next chapter. “Revisiting and Expanding the Learn in order to Advance the Do so I can bring value and Entrench in the Teach.”
Research Interest
My research focus is Human Centered Design and the use of Advanced Analytics in Innovation.
