Background
Rita Winborne completed a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Statistics from Georgia State University followed by a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Tarleton State University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Webster University. She’s currently serving as a Cyber Crimes Specialist for Bank of America. She has an extensive career as a program head and former Pentagon cybersecurity/information security program manager with a background building compelling business cases and heading related high-impact projects in the public and private sectors. Rita is a change agent known for driving transformation to meet shifting enterprise priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines. She is a problem-solver skilled at getting to the root of struggling projects with geographically dispersed staff using Six Sigma methods in ambiguity across divisions and departments. She is known for synthesizing complex data into actionable reports/presentations and is accustomed to urgent situations requiring immediate mitigation and reshaping of policies. She is a retired U.S. Army Veteran and former Apache Helicopter Pilot Pioneer.
Rita is pursuing the DBA because she was interested years ago after pursuing her MBA, but life happened. She plans to utilize the DBA to either teach and/or give back to Bank of America the skills acquired during the pursuit of her DBA.
Her hobbies include sports, learning new things and meeting people from all walks of life.
Research Interest
Rita’s area of research interest is still being developed, however; she wants to conduct cyber-related research within the financial institution industry.
