Senior Project Manager, Charter Communications
DBA Alumnus, Class of 2024

Background

Zez “Z” Zawolo is a combat military veteran with 23 years of service in the United States Army. During his military service, he completed three combat tours, one to Iraq and two to Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Z culminated his military service as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Northeastern University and Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University and an MBA from Liberty University. He joined Spectrum Communications in 2019 after transitioning from the military, where he now serves as a Senior Project Manager.

Z enjoys spending time with his family, running, maintaining a plant-based lifestyle and watching the English Premier League. He is pursuing his DBA to become a professor for nontraditional college students, particularly, active duty service members and veterans. He benefited from the sacrifices that professors rendered in teaching classes at nighttime and weekends to non-traditional students and wants to do the same for others.

Research Interest

Keenly aware of the struggles that many veterans face during their transition from active military to civilian employment, Z intends to focus his research on human capital with emphasis on veterans’ talent acquisition. His research will explore current veterans’ transition strategies and lay out a framework in preparing and equipping service members for the transition to civilian employment.
