Background

Gregory Williams is a retail transformation consultant and change manager with nearly 20 years of experience in the retail industry. He has held leadership positions at JCPenney, Sports Authority, Dollar Tree, Burlington Stores and Microsoft. Currently, Gregory is a senior retail solutions consultant at Microsoft, utilizing his expertise in strategic solution development, risk management, quality assurance and leading cross-functional teams. In 2018, he established BTG Solutions, a consulting company that guides small businesses, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurs to expand and succeed in all aspects of their business.

Gregory has a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Fashion and Retail Merchandising from Florida State University. His academic background and extensive practical experience have given him a deep operational understanding and the ability to align technology implementations with user needs. His leadership roles have emphasized bridging gaps in technology adoption and ensuring effectiveness across diverse teams.

Gregory is keenly interested in integrating emerging technologies into retail environments and establishing an inclusive workplace that harnesses employees’ strengths from different generations.

Gregory currently resides in Chicago, Illinois. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid traveler and enjoys cooking. He is also a community leader and founded One United Community Inc., a non-profit that addresses economic and social barriers.

His research will focus on understanding how technological advancements affect business performance and implementing effective change management strategies across various age groups. Gregory’s goal is to develop sustainable and impactful transformations within the industry.
