Information Management Officer, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment

Since July 2017, Kevin Claiborne has worked as the Information Management Officer for the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (the Old Guard), known as the escort to the President.  He supports a 21 personnel team enabling classified and unclassified network accessibility for roughly 900 end users spanning Fort Myer, VA and Fort Belvoir, VA. Within the mission of the unit, he also prepares for and executes funeral services for senior government officials including President Bush Sr, and Senator John McCain.      

Kevin’s civilian education includes undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Virginia State University, and the Executive Master’s of Business Administration at Prairie View A&M University.  Within his eight years of active duty service, he has completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course, Signal Captains Career Course, and Information Management Course.  

Kevin currently spends his spare time supporting the service initiatives the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland. He is also active with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the National Society of Pershing Rifles Alumni Association.   

Kevin is pursuing the Doctorate of Business Administration for several reasons. First, to add to his abilities as a professional researcher, to build on theories currently published and introduce new ideas.  Second, to use the skills and knowledge to positively impact our communities through his own entrepreneurial aspirations. Currently, his research interests include learning the intricacies of government and business relations to improve socio economic conditions of middle and low-income areas.
