Background

Alex Ilgenfritz is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and budget analyst for the XVII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He brings a multidisciplinary background in data analytics, financial operations, and emerging technologies. He holds master’s degrees in financial technology from Duke University and in computer and information technology from the University of Pennsylvania.

During his military service, Ilgenfritz led financial operations and strategic planning efforts in support of humanitarian missions across 11 countries in Asia. These experiences shaped his commitment to bridging innovation and strategy to help organizations become more resilient and data-driven.

Outside of his professional work, Ilgenfritz is a husband, father of two, and an accomplished jazz saxophonist.

Ilgenfritz’s research focuses on how emerging technologies—such as blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, and machine learning—can drive innovation in complex business environments.
